Dr Masafumi Yoshimoto is our company’s representative for the Japanese and Korean pharmaceutical markets.

His activities primarily focus on the areas of training, M&A and cooperation agreements between Japanese and European pharmaceutical companies.

Dr Masafumi Yoshimoto has extensive experience of working in the Japanese pharmaceutical industry, which included him holding the position of head of licensing & business development at Sankyo Co. Ltd. (today: Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd.) for ten years. It was here that he gained in-depth know-how of a wide variety of positions and tasks including licensing and research & development.

Dr Yoshimoto plays an active role in a number of business development committees and pharmaceutical associations. As chairman of the Pharma Delegates, he has built up a comprehensive network of executive management contacts working at Japanese life science companies. He is currently a member of the board of the JPLA (Japan Pharmaceutical Licensing Association) and is a well-known speaker at many international symposia.

Dr Yoshimoto was awarded his PhD in Pharmacy at the University of Tokyo and spent two years during this course at Pomona College in California (USA).
